Our Staff
Mike Lavers - Head PGA Professional
With 17 years as a PGA Professional my aim is to offer our members guidance with their game and a first class offering in our Pro Shop. I continue to learn and improve my coaching skills and keep our shop stocked with all the lates clothing and equipment. I work closely with the club and the junior organiser to give our juniors the best possible start on their golfing Journey.
Rory Dervin - PGA Professional
Rory joined the professional team at La Moye Golf Club in March 2015, after spending a successful 6 years as Head Assistant at Balbriggan GC, Dublin, Ireland. During his time there, he developed a large client base and Junior section, with a number of students progressing to county and national level. He has worked with golfers of all ages and experience levels, and strives to help each student improve their individual golf swing to increase power, accuracy and consistency.
Jack Gibson - PGA Professional
I’ve been a member of the club for 11 years and started off with a 26 handicap. I was selected for my first of 3 junior inter insular matches in 2011. I also represented La Moye in both Hampshire 7’s and first team matches. In 2015 I left Jersey to attend college in the US at Davis & Elkins College in West Virginia. I played for 3 years on the team where we managed 3 wins and 3 second place finishes throughout my time there. After graduating in 2019 I decided to stay in WV and at Davis & Elkins college and assist head coach JD Lamm in the running of both the men’s and woman’s golf teams. After working with both teams for a season I realised that coaching is something I really want to pursue further. I am looking to get involved heavily in junior coaching as they are the future of both the game and our golf club going forward.
